How do I add VAT to a price?
Multiply the net price by (1 + rate/100). €100 at 21% → €121 gross.
How do I remove VAT from a price?
Divide the gross by (1 + rate/100). €121 at 21% → €100 net.
Why does my invoice total drift by a cent when I add VAT line by line?
Rounding each line independently and then summing produces a slightly different total than computing VAT on the subtotal. Both are legal in the EU; pick one method and apply it consistently within an invoice. Tax authorities care about consistency, not which method you chose.
