Online Timer

Set hours, minutes and seconds, or pick a preset. The timer counts down with a circular progress ring, plays an alarm when done and updates the browser tab title — even when in the background.

The timer runs entirely in your browser. No timer state is sent to a server.

How to use this online timer

  1. Type your time in hours, minutes and seconds — or tap a preset (1, 5, 10 min, 25 min Pomodoro, 1 hr).
  2. Click Start. The ring fills as the timer counts down and the tab title shows the remaining time.
  3. Pause, add +1 minute, or reset at any time.
  4. When time's up: an alarm sound plays, the page flashes and a desktop notification appears.

Frequently asked questions

Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The countdown is based on real wall-clock time, so it stays accurate even when the tab is in the background or your computer briefly sleeps.

Can I get a desktop notification when it's done?

Yes. On Start, your browser will ask permission to show notifications. Allow it once and you'll get a popup when the timer finishes.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Once the page is loaded, the timer runs entirely in your browser and needs no connection.

Can I change the alarm sound?

Yes. Choose between Beep, Chime, Alarm, or Silent. Click any sound to preview it.
